Is this you?
My coaching services, events and products are designed with a certain kind of person in mind. Hopefully you. Yes, you! Hello!
Here’s the deal.
You are definitely bright and interesting. You’re probably also high-achieving and ambitious (in a completely non-bulldozerish kind of way).
You probably need help breaking free from a painful pattern related to eating and/or body image. You’re feeling stuck, and you’re willing to do almost anything to find relief. You’re waiting to be thin in order to have the life you dream about. You believe your weight and your preoccupation with food is keeping you from everything you truly want.
If you are anything like I was, more than anything you want to be free of this struggle. You want to feel in control, empowered, energetic, confident, lovable, happy. You want to take the time and energy you spend obsessing about your weight, and start using it to live a bigger life (while wearing a smaller size, I know, I know). I get it.
You have a hunch that the weight is really about something else. And you’re right. It’s personal, psychological, and habit-oriented. And that’s exactly what I can help you with. I won’t teach you how to have more willpower, or white-knuckle your way to skinny jeans. You’ve tried plenty of diets and programs and gimmicks and you are done addressing the symptom (the weight or the painful eating habits). Together we’ll heal the underlying cause. Which means not only will you lose the desire to overeat and be empowered to lose weight, but it requires improving the rest of your life, too. Pretty cool, right? And you’ll learn tools to take with you to use as other stuff comes up.
You often feel like you don’t know how to deal with life’s ups and downs outside of this obsession with food and your weight. You eat because you’re scared. And you’re so scared of the way you eat. You want to learn how to take care of yourself, to feel safe and comfortable in your own skin.
I believe that the way we do anything is the way we do everything. Our bad habits and stuck spots are metaphors for the way we live our lives. Reaching your ideal weight once and for all so you can get on with your glorious life ~ it’s all about getting comfy in your own skin and knowing that you have something brilliant to offer the world. Not suspecting it. Knowing it!
Oh, and one thing you are not looking for: tough love. Well, you might be looking for it, but I just cannot give it to you. I will always tell you the truth, and the process will probably be challenging. But I will never be the one to tell you to pull yourself up by your bootstraps, or buckle down, or suck it up. Not my thing.
You, in a nutshell.
Yeah, it would be awesome if you were a little nutty. Anyway.
There’s a good chance you spend a lot of time in your head, and want to learn how to lead more often with your heart.
You’re interested in uncovering the truth, even if there’s a bit of a labyrinth journey involved.
You can put up with some spiritual lingo and understand that I’m not really attached to any of the cheesy words I might use: life coach (blech), soul, journey, authenticity, blah, blah, blah. I believe in the spirit of all of these ideas wholeheartedly, and I also have a healthy dose of irreverence for the flaky picture they paint. I would love it if you did, too, or could at least indulge mine.
You are willing to take some risks. I’m not saying you can’t be scared. I will totally stare down the monsters under your bed.
Health is important to you ~ physical, mental, emotional. You certainly don’t need to be a purist or perfect (because, gah, that would be annoying). But being healthy is a priority, or you really, truly want it to be.
You love to laugh, and maybe you aren’t laughing as much as you’d like at the moment. We’ll work on that. We’ll probably even do some laughing ourselves.
Sounding familiar?
Right on. Next comes the bit where I get so excited about you and the incredible possibilities for bringing your thing into the world that I can hardly fall asleep. But I promise not to call you in the middle of the night with my latest brilliant idea.

You, in a nutshell.
Yeah, it would be awesome if you were a little nutty. Anyway.
You want freedom from a painful pattern related to food or weight or body image. Or yeah, all three.
You’re tired of your weight or health or body being this project, this thing that keeps you from enjoying your life. But when you try to drop the struggle, those painful habits and patterns are still there. Yup, still demanding your attention and just generally bugging the crap out of you.
You want a fresh approach.
You are so ready to be done with this struggle. You’re tired of feeling out of control when it comes to eating and exercise. And you’re ready to take the energy you spend obsessing about this stuff, and start using it to live a bigger, brighter life. (While wearing a smaller size. I can dig it.)
Yeah, it would be great to like the way you look. (No, that’s not asking too much.) And you’re ready to feel super comfy in your own skin. But being thin is certainly not the whole point of your whole life.
You’re not looking for more rules or a quick-fix solution.
Oh, and you’re not looking for tough love. I will always tell you the truth. But I will never tell you to buckle down or suck it up. Not my thing. On the other hand, I’ll never try to convince you to love your love handles either. Again, so not my thing.
Sounding familiar?
If you’re going yes, yes, I want my mojo back… Right on. (More like Hooray!)
And a confession: I think you’re kind of lucky.
No, not because you’re my kind of person. (Although, hey that does make you pretty awesome.) I think you’re lucky because your stickiest stuck spot can absolutely be the opening to discovering your bliss. And freedom is possible: Best. News. Ever.
